Mayor Wayne Hurst told the Amherstburg Town Council and others in attendance that " ... We also want to take a moment to point out the importance of the participation of the students of General Amherst. They worked very hard in putting together the video entitled A Town in Need. That is part of this application and we are confident that we will be successful. I think by having the participation of the students it once again speaks to the importance of having community schools. And so we thank all of the students. The application has gone to the Ministry and our fingers will remain crossed until we hear back from him and we will not take no for an answer this time." Town confident application for Family Health Team will be approved, The River Town Times, Amherstburg, Ontario, February 16, 2006.
