Computer Studies

What is Computer Studies?
Computer studies is not learning how to use the computer, but rather learning how it works. It is more than computer programming. Computer studies is the study of ways of representing objects and processes. It involves analyzing problems, designing solutions, as well as developing. testing, and maintaining programs.

Extra-curricular Activities
Aside from the computer classes offered at General Amherst, there are also opportunities to further build programming skills by participating in contests and workshops. Students have successfully participated in University of Windsor Prograaming Contsest, University of Windsor Robotics Contest, University of Waterloo Programming Contest, DWITE online programming contest, Xbox programming workshop at University of Windsor, and the Robotics workshop at the University of Windsor.
