Mrs. Fox or Mr. Cozens can check out books for you. You must have
your student card with you. Books are loaned for three weeks. Some
books are reserved for use in the library and cannot be taken out.
These are usually reference books i.e. Encyclopedia , Atlases,
Dictionaries.
To check out a book two things are required: you student card (mandatory) and the book. Books are checked out by Mr. Cozens or Mrs. Fox. Students may check out a maximum of 6 books at any time. Books that go out on loan to students become their responsibility. The loan period is normally three weeks. After three weeks the books are overdue and students may have access to library materials limited and be assessed fines. Students must pay for any lost books.
To find books in the General Amherst Library you access the catalogue via the Internet. You can search by author, title, subject or key word. The search will provide the Dewey decimal number of the books. This number number located on the spine is based on the book's subject. The number is followed by the first three letters of the authors last name. When finding materials be sure to look at other books located nearby on the shelf, they will have subject relate to each other and may be of use for your project. Fiction books are organised alphabetically by the authors last name.

Plagiarism is offering someone else's work as your own, whether one sentence or whole paragraphs, and whether from an internet source, book, periodical, or the writing of other students. Failing to cite a source intentionally or accidentally is plagiarism. Penalties for plagiarism range from failing the assignment to failing the course. Universities and colleges often expel student caught plagiarising depending on the seriousness of the breach of academic integrity.
If you had help you wouldn't want your parents or teacher to know about it is probably cheating or plagiarism.
